Things to do in Vancouver at Dusk and Beyond

In a recent article in the New York Times entitled 36 Hours in Vancouver, the writer waxes poetic about how easy it is to be smitten by this city, and we couldn’t agree more! By day, Vancouver offers a dizzying array of activities aptly suited for a West Coast city surrounded by nature: on the water there’s kayaking or canoeing; on the seawall along the water’s edge there’s strolling, cycling or in-line skating; in the nearby local mountains there’s hiking up the Grouse Grind, and of course in various neighborhoods including the downtown core you could spend countless hours exploring and meandering about, but at dusk, this jewel in the Pacific Northwest truly comes alive.

Let’s Order in from The Lions Pub

While downtown Vancouver has the full range of culinary options ranging from family-style large chains to fine dining in the immediate vicinity of The Auberge Hotel, there’s hidden gem located at the rear of the building: The Lions Pub boasts modern pub fare served in a lively, convivial atmosphere. The menu runs the gamut from traditional British comfort food to a wide range of sandwiches, burgers and salads. Of course there’s beer on tap as well as a huge selection of craft beer, too!

Holiday HoHoHo in Downtown Vancouver

Both visitors and locals alike would agree that Vancouver is visually picture postcard perfect, especially when it boasts mountains and an ocean nearby for a handy backdrop, but this world class cosmopolitan city in the Pacific Northwest is absolutely captivating when she’s all glammed up for the holidays.
