Spring Has (finally) Sprung in Vancouver! Posted On: April 28, 2017 By: Ruth Chin Filed In: Downtown Vancouver, Greater Vancouver It’s time to shed those down parkas and woolly toques; after what has been an unbearably long, cold winter, a profusion of pink cherry blossoms punctuate the city landscape and herald the return of spring to the West Coast. From Queen Elizabeth Park to English Bay; from False Creek to downtown pocket-sized playgrounds: spring blooms completely ablaze in colour are popping up along urban boulevards, in manicured park gardens as well as in planter boxes decorating the exterior of local businesses. Go ahead and embark on a few spring-like actvities: Try your hand at painting en plein air, saunter over to the seawall for a stroll, run or cycle; take the kids to the adventure playground for some fun and frolic, get a great selfie with a grouping of public art statues worthy of a double take, savour a sip of coffee or tea or something stronger at an outdoor cafe or exchange some matrimonial vows in the middle of a floral garden: things are looking up ‘cos spring has definitely sprung!
